Failure to unblock my phone

I am a bit upset. I was late in paying my cellphone account and my line and handset got disconnected at around 11.00am almost 2 months back. I late came up to date and made necessary arrangements to have the line and handset unblocked. the line has since been unblocked but not the handset. After making numerous calls to MTN I was advised to visit the store and I went with the handset on 10 June to the cresta store, the gentleman tested the handset and advised me it had to be booked in for repairs. It displayed an error code MM6 - Phone not allowed. I then researched via RIM when i got home and they say the phone is either been reported and blacklisted or has been blocked for non-payment of a bill. MTN HRVC requested the initial purchase agreements to fix the phone which i supplied and rebooked the handset on 5 July. Today I was told the phone has physical damage. This is not acceptable. The only problem with that phone is it is a refurbished phone i received in November 2012 from MTN and it is a phone from who I dont know. My contract has 8 days left and Now they are returning this refurbished phone not fixed to me again. Surely MTN this is not fai
