Vodacom
Lack of delegated authority

I went into vodaworld this am to renew my wife's cell phone contract. Upon entering the vodacom store as one enters vodaworld, I asked I to see the Samsung specials. Since there was a Samsung rep standing next to the store front people, I would have thought he would have pricked up his ears and made an effort to make the rest of the sale smooth. But remember this is vodaworld!

Anyway, we seated ourselves at the front of the queue. After seeing the staff chatting amounts themselves and making no effort to engage customers, I took myself to the first desk. After starting the conversation, I had to tell his mate, also wearing the vodacom livery to get out the seat and allow the potential customers to engage the sales consultant.

I then asked to see my wife's current billings and it averaged 750/month mostly on calls exceeding her talk 100 contract. Since this contract has long since expired, I suggested that they supply the Samsung S4 on the s3 contract price and waive the sim fee and contract price another r200. Are they mad? Anyway, the short answer was no. The sales consultants have no authority!

Anyway, off to MTN to where they actually value customers!

Cheers
Stephen
