Contract length increased without upgrade

My father took out an MTN contract for me and was paying for it for a number of years. When he had passed away I made efforts to get the contract put into my name as I needed to keep the number. Every single time I called MTN I was asked for the account holder who, as I had to repeatedly explain, was deceased. No one could help me and everything went into some strange state of limbo, no one knew what to do and didn't seem to know more than myself. Eventually I went into a store and after repeatedly telling them my dad had died we filled out some forms and were told to wait 3 days. After waiting a week or 2 with MTN still sending me messages demanding their money I went to pay at a direct store and then called customer care and after being put on hold a number of times I got to someone who I could help. She eventually fixed the problem by getting the contract into my sister's name. (I was too young to sign contracts at the time). Now, a number of months later, I am due for an upgrade, but, the lady who had helped me before had clearly done a half job because now my upgrade is apparently only in December 2013?? When in fact I'm due for an upgrade no later than May 2013...
