Lekkeslaap : Prsima House
False advertising

We booked Prisma House at Park Rynie on the South Coast for the Christmas period since we wanted a private family holiday. What a disaster and money lost!!!

On confirmation, 10 minutes before we arrive, the owner told us that they are in the Free State but that their mother is on site to hand over the key. Ten minutes later, through a road where the tar keeps the potholes together, we arrived, but it looked dilapidated to say the least. A man and woman came out to greet us from what seemed to be a garage.

At least the couple was nice and decent, but it seems that they were living on the premises in a closed-up garage (seems like a homemade shack with a steel-covered carport looking like a scrap shop). At that moment, another man came out of another outbuilding where he clearly is staying - seems that there are at least two sets of people on the premises where subletting is done, not stated in the advert, and that privacy will not be guaranteed.

The house was neat, but oh my God! The main bathroom toilet was broken and there was no door. The safe key was broken and we were too afraid to use it in case we couldn't open it again. Cupboard doors and drawers do not align. The stove was not working (or at least - if you need it, call us as it needs a trick to be switched on). There were two fridges, fully stocked and not defrosted nor cleaned, and they stank. At the dishwashing basin, there was a cloth and a toothbrush... yes, a toothbrush! Still do not know if we were supposed to clean dishes with a toothbrush or if it was a previous occupant that left it in the kitchen. There is a washing machine, but tenants are not allowed to use it as it is for private use - clearly for the parents staying in the outside shack/flat, although it is in the main house... privacy gone again.

Any faults - don't worry about it, the owner will fix it when he comes down in March - how must I use a broken toilet, how do I use a bathroom without a door, how do I use a safe with a broken key, how do I wash dishes - with a toothbrush? At the back, there was a caravan used as a shed - falling apart. If you stand on the lawn, you look straight into the so-called flat of the parents - no privacy at all.

No towels provided at all - and no notification to the effect at all. Please make sure you lock the sliding door, as the scabanga will unhitch the door from the rail at night. If you use the alarm, you cannot use a bathroom at night as the alarm is motion-sensitive. That is safety standards!!! At the back of the property, there is a very low fence and then a deserted house with open access to the beach - and while we were still considering this disaster, people/tsotsis walked from the beach, through the stand, and started to climb over the back wall!!!

Needless to say, we packed immediately and left. This is a disgrace, and the sad part is that this was supposed to be a Family Christmas Holiday that did not happen - and all money lost. Prisma Holiday House is engaging in false advertising and is a scam. How can they advertise a holiday house while the place is being subletted and other people are staying or squatting on the premises?
