When my contract was due for an upgrade, I called MTN direct (2013-10-22). I went through all the necessary questions and information to upgrade and was told that my phone would be couriered the next day. On the 28th I phoned again and was told that no upgrade was processed on my contract. Nobody could tell me what happened even though I have a ref#. Nobody even wanted to number to investigate the issue. So I mailed customer care on 2013-10-28 with a number of questions. I only received a reply on 2013-11-13 (16 days afterwards). The reply did not answer a single question I have asked. I just said: "Thank you for emailing customer care". This was not the automated response, either. Somebody read my questions and refused to answer them.
I upgraded successfully in the meantime, but this level customer service makes me think not cancelling my contract was a mistake.
