Virgin Active not offering card facilities

Me and my husband decided to cancel our membership with this gym. We phoned before we went in to check on what we need to bring with.

When we got to the gym the manager sat down with us and informed us again about the cancellation fee which the receptionist also told us. When we wanted to pay with a cheque card she said sorry our card machine only works when people sign up for a membership it does not work when you want to unsubscribe or pay your monthly fees

We had to go to an ATM which then broke, gave back our card and slip but no cash after taking the money off the account

When we returned to the gym very unhappy about them not offering a basic service to clients in the first place the manager told us their card machine is not properly connected or something and that previous clients had also requested this service and that they also received complaints from clients about them not having this basic service

now i have lost money and need to go in again to the gym to pay this cancellation fee, so this is costing me double now thanks to them not offering a basic service
