I was approached by a sales consultant at Virgin active and offered me a membership that i could cancel at any time. i have since been divorced and can no longer afford their fees and they told me i have to pay them a full fee of R279 for 24 months. the cancellation clause apparently tells me i owe them over R5000 and the very rude consultant i spoke to told me i must pay R1500 and it must be availabe in my account immediately. I am single mother of 2 what makes her think i have R1500 to give to her for fee. She then tells me she can freeze the membership for 6 months and i can pay them R86 monthly. VIRGIN ACTIVE IS TAKING PEOPLE FOR A RIDE!!! Your consultants are not true to clients when they sell the products. the "contracts" does not state that and it is simply misinterpreted to clients if it is there. I do believe that the National Credit Act does state that you make sure that your client understands the terms and conditions and not wing over it and make the clients sign.
i am not paying this amount. i simply don't have it!!! plus the call centre agents are extremely rude!!! so much for customer service!!!
