Billing me for a service which was cancelled

I went to virgin active and got transferred from momentum in November 2013 to Discovery.

Now i am being double debited and paying for both services one which i am not even using for two months already.i have been told there is nothing they can do and cannot refund me because they never received the cancellation. I was not informed of the whole process. I have been told by receiver that i should have cancelled the service from momentum in order to cancel my virgin active gym membership. When you sign up, you sign up with virgin active not the other way around. With momentum i was on my mothers extender membership her ID no is 7107200272082 but momentum is using my banking details for the gym membership. the payment Ref no is Momentum Mm 90133131 R 221
