Virgin Active ridiculous "NEW" Sign up fees

I am extremely unhappy to find out today from virgin active that i now need to
pay a once off sign up fee of R960, pay for a new card. Due to the fact that i have not been a member of discovery.

This is totally ridiculous, since i have always been a member of discovery, and just recently went off my fathers medical aid, and started my own one. I have also been a member of virgin active for many years.

And because virgin active was not informed of me going on my own medical aid, i now have to pay and exorbitant start up fee, whilst I have never wanted to stop my virgin active gym contract at any stage.

This is not the first time i have heard of this.

Surely it is your duty to inform Virgina Active that my discovery account was going to be transferred, therefor no new card, and sign up fees required.
