We made the mistake of going to do some grocery shopping at Pick 'n Pay Atterbury today.
The cashier thought that she was on some kind of holiday or something, taking her sweet time slowly dragging each item past the barcode scanner as slowly as she possibly could.
There was nobody around to pack our groceries into shopping bags, so my wife had to pack the groceries into bags herself. I am used to doing this in the UK since thats what you do everywhere, but in South Africa where the stores have dedicated people to pack the shopping bags for their customers, I find this totally and utterly unacceptable.
The cashier then started helping my wife pack the groceries in bags but she was already incredibly slow just to ring the stuff up, so both my wife and I told her to stop packing and to continue to ring the stuff up but she point blank ignored us and continued packing the bags. I WILL NOT tolerate this. People like this must be fired!
We were extremely annoyed so asked for the store manager. The cashier pressed the button for a supervisor but nobody came.
What kind of a joke of a store are you people running? The entire management team should be fired for this incompetence!
