I stayed at the Palace of the Lost City in un City from the 16 to 18 December 2013. We asked in advance for a room neat the lift because we have twin babies - we were given a room that was last in the area and the furthest from the lifts.
I am disgusted at the hygiene of the rooms. We witnessed the cleaning of the room on two occasions. There was no vacuuming of the unit. We found cockroaches and a spider web in the room (I have photos). To beat this they had no duvet covers on the second day. We reported this to management while we were staying there who promised to get back to us with the hour. Nothing happened.
To beat this, we had to wait in line for 30 minute on both days to get a table for breakfast. I travel overseas 4-5 times a year. The Palace rates as a 3-4 star hotel in terms of service and hygiene compared to those in China.
