A few years ago I joined Protea hotels loyality program & after which I always insisted on staying at Protea hotels & was given a card which we ticked off & after a certain no of nights I was then issued a voucher for 2 free nights with spouse which DID NOT have an expire date. I tried using the vouchers a no of times before but when trying to book by telephone there was no answer or the hotels we'nt available on the dates I choose even though the hotel did have rooms available.
Now I have the paper vouchers as they are called but am told I cannot use them because there is a new system of online vouchers which since August 2013 has come into existance.
The voucher I have in my possession clearly dos'nt have an expire date on it & when I mention trying to use it nowdays I am told by Prokard club that they are no longer valid...
The prokard is a sham as people are falsely told they get lots of perks but when you try to book or use the free nights etc most of the protea hotels wo'nt accept it saying they are booked or some other excuse.
This is sad, as loyality members we should be given preference & not seen as liabilities...
