Medical Failing to Pay Bills

We found out that my wife is pregnant at early May 2013 and I called Momentum to activate maternity benefit and they requested me to send them the Gynaecologist's practice number which I did and after the informed me that the maternity benefit has been activated and explained to me the benefits that I have. My wife then started going to that Gynae for all her pregnancy check up.
Then the Doctor gave us a date of when she will deliver and that I should call the medical aid to get the admission authorisation number which they gave me (86992404).

then yesterday (2013/09/20) I received a statement from the Gynae's accountant that they medical aid hasn't paid a single account and when I call the medical aid they telling me that he is not on their network therefore they wont pay even a cent. I'm liable for paying it. and I told them that when I activated the maternity benefit, I gave them the practice number and they never mentioned anything then, why is it that now that they suppose to pay they coming with all these stories. this is a load of . i'm paying a lot of money monthly without any problems but when they supposed to pay its an issue and this is not for the first time.
