WARRANTY NOT HONORED

I booked my Samsung smartphone into Vodacom customer care in December and only found out today that Samsung will not honor the warranty to repair my phone due to physical damage. I do not dispute that my phone has physical damage as I had dropped my phone back in August last year and it picked up a little chip on the top corner of the screen, however it continued to work as normal since then therefore I do not understand how they can attest my phone not working due to that from someone who has worked in the ITC sector for many years I have a in depth understanding of electronics and I cannot understand how they can come to this conclusion as it merely seems to be an assumption because they either do not have the skills to fix it or flat out do not care about assisting their customers. I have been such a loyal user of Samsung products from my phone down to all my appliances in my house and I shudder to imagine what is going to happen if something goes wrong with any of my other Samsung products, what service will I receive then...
