As useless of a warranty as is customer service

My S3, recently went "white screen" on me. Eventually got a hold of a human at Samsung, whom I explained the scenario to. She informed me to take my device, proof of warranty to some shop, Smartla, you know! Like purchasing a Mercedes Benz, with a two year warranty, and taking it to some local mechanic, Steve, to have a look at it.

Nonetheless, took my phone to SmartLab as per Kgabi. 2 Days later got a quotation for R3781.00 to repair physical damage on the phone, asked Thami at SmartLab A.K.A Steve's Auto. what physical damage they are referring to. The response and I quote, "PHYSICAL damage is considered as any form of defects or damage resulting from accident, misuse, abnormal use, abnormal conditions and improper storage.
in this regard the technician found that the motherboard and the LCD was damaged and that is considered as physical damage and it is not covered by your Samsung warranty. Please advise if you would like us to proceed with the repair or if you rejecting the quotation.

Bear in mind, nothing is wrong with the device externally, but the motherboard & LCD is damaged.
This SmartLab, then want R150 from me. Really Samsung?
