I hired a car from Tempest Car Hire O.R Tambo in April 2012 after a car accident I had. The vehicle I hired broke down a few days later in Midrand. Tempest Midrand then exchanged the vehicle and saw that a was used to hold the positive terminal onto the battery, which had come loose. The branch manager then attempted it back as a "crowbar" solution and hand the vehicle back to me. I flat out refused and requested that they exchange the vehicle.
With a bad attitude the Midrand branch manager handed over another vehicle and I did the inspection with her there.
I returned the car to the Panel Beaters upon collection of my personal vehicle and arranged with Tempest Car Hire to collect.
Tempest Car Hire charged my credit card for the rental period, plus for the extra 2 days I hired. They then charged my credit card for an insurance excess for a dented door, which had already been marked as dented on the inspection card when I received the car. They also tried to accuse me of their "crowbar" repair to the vehicle and charge me for it.
On the 8'Th February 2013 (nearly 1 year later) they charged my credit card again for /- R2500.00
Tempest Car Hire's service is a disgrace!!
