Incorrect fuel deposit amount taken

My vehicle was booked into the panelbeaters for the repairs. The insurance company provided me with a vehicle from Tempest Car Hire. They inform me that I need to pay a R750 fuel deposit on the vehicle - no problem. They deliver the vehicle to my home, take an in-print of my card, and then decide to take R1000.00 off. They do not notify me and everytime I call to query this, they inform me that the branch manager will get back to me. I'm still waiting! I called the booking company (Empire Fleet solutions) and they have confirmed that the deposit is R750 and not R1000 and have logged a call for Stefan to call me to rectify this matter. He hasn't bothered to call. The switchboard operator (I forget his name) is pretty rude too and continues to argue with me and to try and justify the wrong amount debited on my card. Surely this is against the CPA?

I will request with my broker / insurance co not to use Tempest Car Hire in the future. They are liars and haven't a clue about customer service.
