Mercedes-Benz South Africa
"Avoiding" known fault - lack of integrity

When my 63000km vehicle (admittedly out of warranty) developed a R30k fault, i logged a repair request with MBSA, Ref 3574106.Raven did not return my calls and when I did get him on the phone, he did not keep to his word in calling me back by 12pm the next day. I called back and was given a decline feedback. Despite demand, he was unwilling to provide me with the Surname of "Greshan" who declined my repair request. Having researched my vehicle fault, i understand it to be a common one experienced by A and B class owners all over the world. That my vehicle failed at 63000km's says a lot. In 2012, i logged a similar repair request, following aircon failure, and here too I was given the standard decline response. It was only after putting up a fight that my repair was approved. With about 9 Mercedes Benz vehicles owned by immediate family, i am extremely dissapointed in what was once a reliable and trustworthy brand. Having just read about Mr R.A. Diekmann's (link may be posted later) hassles i am quickly begining to lose faith in Mercedes Benz.. My attorney suggests the promotion of access to info act be used to compel MBSA to provide stats on number of such failures, etc etc
