We have been banking with Nedbank for many years. Our Branch "The Wedge" closed down and we were told our new branch would be Morningglen.
The first thing that happened was when we asked them what our branch code was now no one could tell us.
I went with my gardener who is Malawian to open an account. We took what we thought were all the correct documents ie. proof of residence, letter to say he lived on our property, pay slip, passport and work permit. The service we received was pathetic and nobody rushed to assist us? We filled in the required forms to open an account but they then gave us more documents to fill in. One of them was the cohabitants/lessee/owner which they were not prepared to help us with. This is one of the most badly worded forms I have ever had the displeasure of filling out. We eventually were sent back home 3 times with some or other problem in a form. Then comes the worst we get a letter in the post (after the postal strike) that they were going to block his account as he was not FICA"d. He had been given an account and a card. We now had to start all over again they could not tell us what happened to the forms we filled in.
