I went into Absa Bank to get a new card. I was issued with a card that has a chip in it - to avoid. However whenever I make purchases and swipe my card - the amounts avaiable in my account does not correspond with the amount stated in the Notify Me SMS. I quired it this morning and the young lady advised that its because of the amount being in the current account and not in showing my actual balance - due to bank charges. She even informed me that many Absa clients are lodging complaints about this. I asked her when it will be corrected and she can not tell me. Absa has just lost me as a client and I will make sure I advise all Absa clients to change banks as soon as possible.
