Hi i just want to say how unhappy i am with Absa bank. A cheque was deposited into my account for amount R7300. Few days later i got sms from Absa stating money is in my account and availible. I went to check online and yes it was cleared and made availible for me to use. So i with drew money and transfered to a different account. 4 Days later i get another sms from Absa saying they are reversing the amount due to cheque. My problem is why did the bank clear it in the first place, other banks show the amount on your account but dont make it avalible for one to use until the notice period. In my case as per Absa bank mangers i spoken to and i quote " We dont tell our clients of this option but if you manage your account in a good manner they will clear it early" Sorry i did not ask for that option nor sign for it. I hold Absa bank accountable for the R7300 i have lost. Absa was only willing to repay me 25% of the full amount. I was not happy with this and complaint been forwarded to the Ombudsman for advise.
All that Absa ever done for me is cause me stress and worry.
