I would like to demand back my premiums for dents and scratches policy i have held for years. Dialdirect passes the buck on this insurance even though they sold the policy to me. I made a claim for two of my vehicles for dents and scratches. I took the vehicle to the insurance accessor (Automagic) who was under the impression the cover from the policy is R3500 per incident. Needless to say, the accessors report came in at R3400 for both vehicles. I'm sure if the assesor knew the policy limit was R3000 and not R3500, the assessed damage would have been R2900 . I feel this insurance is a rip off. Even if the damage is R1000, the assessor would still claim maximum because they get first option to do the job
The expectation is that I now go find a quote on my own to submit to the insurer. This is something a broker would do. How is this making my life easier. It would make more sense for the insurer to pay me the portion they would cover and let me settle the balance. Now i need to waste time getting quotes with no guarantee of the insurer honouring my claim.
This is a huge with only the insurer and panelbeater benefitting
