I cannot clear my name because of ABSA

I had an ABSA Silver Credit Card, which was converted to an ABSA Gold Credit Card in 2009. This resulted in the account number changing. So in short, according to my Debt Counselor, ABSA, now refuse to give proof that there was only ONE account/credit card. So now my Debt Counselor cannot issue me with a CLEARANCE CERTIFICATE as I only have ONE paid up letter for ONE credit card (the gold one). I do not have one for the silver credit card, & my Debt Counselor require a letter from ABSA stating that the silver and gold credit card is ONE card. That the silver card was converted to a gold card.

Upon contacting your collections department on 2013/12/19 at 14h44, I was told you could not issue me with proof off the that the silver and gold account is the same account, as there might still be costs incurred on the above mentioned account. BUT I HAVE A LETTER dated 21 Aug 2012, reference AC2, CONFIRMING THAT THE ACCOUNT HAD BEEN CLOSED!!!

And ABSA could find no active profile under my ID.

Why is it that ABSA is not willing to send a letter for the abovementioned to my Debt Counselor?

The whole proses to get my name removed from debt review is now placed on hold because of ABSA
