I was recently contacted by CCD couriers informing me that my new gold credit card is to be delivered within the next few days. I informed the couriers that I did not request a gold card as I was happy with my current silver credit card (I received my renewal silver card within the last three months). The couriers cancelled the delivery but FNB went ahead and added the gold card to my online profile, transferring the excess funds on my silver card to the gold card. Then they went and removed the gold card from the profile. After logging a query the funds were transferred back to my silver card account and I thought all was good.
Then yesterday I am stuck after refuelling my car as my card is no longer authorised but I needed to pay for my purchase. I used the card two days before to draw cash and one day before to pay for a purchase.
I contacted FNB Card division who says my card has been deleted and a new one issued. The relevant dept is closed for the day. I specifically confirmed during the cancelation of the unwanted gold card that my current card will remain active. I am now without access to my account and when phoning FNB gets transferred from one department to the other.
