Thanks for nothing

I made use the branch for the first time on 8 January 2014 to bank a cheque. This was a bank cheque from my mother that I needed to deposit into my account to pay my study fees. ABSA told me clearly that because it was a bank cheque that there would be no waiting period. After depositing the cheque I waited a full 24 hours before trying to pay my study fees and nothing! THE TELLER neglected to mention to me that the money would not be cleared for 7 Days.
After speaking to their call centre I was informed that FNB no longer accept Bank cheques. HOW THE WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW since i use internet banking and barely ever go in to do any banking! Now I have to wait another week before paying and another week before I receive my course info from UNISA! I am doing 9 modules this year. I don't have time to waste. If I had know this I would have done it differently! The tellers could really be a LITTLE MORE INFORMATIVE!
