DEPOSIT OF CHEQUE INTO ACCOUNT

I deposited a cheque into my savings account on Friday, the cheque were not crossed or anything and the teller never informed me that the cheque has to be on waiting period for 10 days or if I want to waive the lift on the cheque. Only to find out this morning that the cheque is not available for use and after phoning the bank and the call centre nobody want to assist and clear the cheque. Why did she not tell me that when depositing the cheque. If the cheque was not crossed at all and it is from a realiable source and also a cheque from an account holder from Absa, why not??? I want this cheque cleared so that I can use the money urgently!!!
