A trust account cheque was deposited into my FNB smart account. I called the Online Banking Customer Service Department to find out how long this cheque will take to clear. I was told that it will take a whole seven working days. Now I find this to be totally unacceptable as it is a cheque from a trust account and the Law States that should any financial institution/company/ person/s owning a trust account facility at any bank, try to issue a cheque or transfer any amount of funds and there is insufficient funds in that account will face jail time. So surely there are funds in the account, what company ceo would want to face time in jail for a cheque in the amount of R40 000. Yet I will have to wait 7 days for that money to be available. I am sure that the money is available the very next day, as any trust account bank guaranteed cheque is as good as cash. I have decided that I will definately move all 4 accounts that I currently have with First National Bank. Now I am just waiting for the banking fees that I am going to be charged and no body is able to help me. I will be moving my accounts as soon as the funds are available. First National Bank can never help or assist me since I
