I opened an account in October with FNB (after numerous issues and going into the branch on several occasions). I was told that with the card I could access the slow lounge, which is the only reason why I actually opened the account. I went into the lounge is October and was charged. I queried this with Gabrielle Moodley, who advised me that I needed to deposit my salary into this account, prior to going into the lounge. I confirmed that it was my first month of utilising the account and that my salary would be deposited in the next few days. The fee of R250 was reversed.
I then went into the lounge on arrival and departure in November, and see that I was charged R500. I queried this again with Gabrielle as I had now deposited my salary, as advised. I was now primary banked with FNB.
After weeks of not responding to me, she came back to tell me that I needed to swipe my card up to R5000 for the month preceeding my entry to the lounge. I said I had never been told about this before. I have an audit trail confirming that this was NEVER mentioned to me at any time. FNB have refused to reverse this fee as I should have known about this. How?
I will now be closing my account!
