I have a Platinum account with FNB for the last few years and have been very happy with their service up to now.
This account I now want to downgrade to a Smart account.
The monthly fees are so much lower and I have no need for the advantages of a Platinum account anymore as I have moved abroad and only have one debit order going off that account per month.
My mother acts on my behalf in South Africa. We have gone in to FNB and given her full authority over my accounts while I was still in South Africa at the Robertson branch. I have also signed a legal proxy from a lawyer giving her full authority over my affairs in South Africa.
We have repeatedly asked the Robertson branch to downgrade my account to a Smart Account but the answer is always they are waiting for a response from head office and to come back next week. This has been going on for a few weeks now with no change to my account.
I am very dissapointed in the service I am receiving and simply cannot believe that it is taking them this long to simply downgrade account. I mean technically I do not even qualify for a Platinum account anymore as I am not receiving R16000 pm into the account.
FNB please sort this out.
