My daughter accidentally reversed into my parked car in our driveway. We each have our own policy's with Outsurance. Because I am an innocent party, I feel it is fair that both vehicles are repaired through her cover. Outsurance has rejected the repairs to my car through her policy because we are related. If she was a stranger they would cover it. This is the most ridiculous exclusion I have come accross. Valencia Mache at legal also had the audacity to infer that I am illogical by issuing legal summons against my daughter. That is utter rubbish. She pays a monthly premium expecting to be covered if she causes an accident and that is exactly what it was. I do not expect her to pay it but her insurors. She will in any event have to pay her excess and lose her no claim bonus status regardless but now I am also penalised and being forced to claim from my own policy and paying my own excess and also losing my no claim bonus status. All this because she was not a total stranger. Furthermore the assessment of damages to my vehicle were excessive. They are replacing a side panel that only has a 1mm scratch on the edge and the front light that has paint marks only.
