My wife has been a customer of Outsurance for a number of years. Out of the blue her policy was cancelled without any forewarning. This happened after her policy schedule was updated on 3 May 2013. Ostensibly this is due to the policy attaining "multi-claim" status. As explained to me this means that, even though Outsurance have made a healthy profit out of us - and still do (in other words the nominal claims over the years have not affected Outsurance's profit), you can't claim too frequently. Bizarre. The person phoning can't understand the decision and can't reconsider it as its an actuarial problem and a function of the system. So, beware, don't claim too often, even if it is small, because the other side to the "no claim bonus" is no policy at all.
