Incorrect Application of Lapsed Policy

The policy-holder passed away on 05 April 2012 and Absa Life sent us a letter issued on 06 March 2013 claiming the policy lapsed because of three consecutive premiums being unpaid.

The policy-holder (The Late H. Mbatha) policy number 66600191225 has an existing account account with ABSA Bank, which still has sufficient funds to date. Absa Life continued to debit the policy- holder's banking ABSA account from April 2012 when he passed on until December 2012. Then they sent a letter issued in March 2013 claiming the policy-holder's account had lapsed.

We are not able to get hold of consultants at Absa Life to assist with this problem. We only end up at their call centre who are not helpful.

We need this matter to be escalated to a consultant who has the expertise to handle this kind of a problem.
