ABSA bank have a policy which states that in order to open an Estate Late banking account you must have executorship. I received a letter of authority from the Courts to allow me to handle my mom's estate, this is not good enough for ABSA. If an estate us under the value of R150 000.00 a Letter of Authority will be issued. If an estate is over the value of R150 000.00 a Letter of Executorship is issued. ABSA Sunninghill is adamant they are unable to help me open an E/L account but were very quick to close all my mom's accounts that she held with them. I find this extremely poor from ABSA it now means I have to go to another bank to open this account. At a time like this one needs help not be turned away! Very very poor from ABSA.
