Just after 5pm on the 9th May I went to the Absa ATM do a transfer when I was directed to the other ATM machine as the one I went to was not working. I placed my card in the machine and the screen showed a black language I did not understand. I was told to change my card around by who I thought was a security man. I did this but the ATM still showed a black language. I did not put in my pin number as I was suspicious and then pressed cancel several times to get my card. My card did not return so I called the helpline and reported the problem only to be told that my card was not registering as been stuck in the machine and R500 had been withdrawn while talking on the help line from the machine that I was standing in front of and R1000 at a different ATM 3 minutes before while I was at the Absa ATM. I received a call from ABSA about 2 weeks later to say they will pay out the R500 but not the R1000 as it was at another ATM which I could not have possibly done as I was trying to work the ABSA ATM. I have not been paid out at all and at no time was my pin number typed in. Very poor and shocking service or non service from ABSA!
