We have tried to open an account with Capitec bank for a week, supposedly all you require is an ID and proof of residence. NOT the case if you have been married before then you need all kinds of other documents, even with those documents they will not open the account, and phoning the head office is even worse as no on at this organization wants to help or even cares and further more, the branch tells head office what to do. if you are reading this tell everyone you know as i am now doing not to open an account and if they do move to another bank, this one does not want to help or even care
