I wanted to open an account at capitec gale street branch, i came with my id and a durban metro bill that would serve as my proof of residence, to my suprise the managers csc sahil informed me that he cant accept it and that i should rather go to standard bank and have them print out a statement and then come back, after driving there, waiting in line and driving back, sahil informs me that this too can not be used!!! the bank manager sitha was not helpful either, to make matters worse sahil tells me that he said i should go to fnb and not standard bank (which is a and secondly i dont have an account with fnb) all of this simply because i want to open an account. i was greatly disapointed for a bank that constantly advertises that there is no need to waste on queues at bank you guys wasted over an hour of my time, talk abt incompetence
