DEBIT ORDER SWITCHING / FREEZING MY ACCOUNT

I recently changed banks (due to ABSA's high bank costs and them freezing my account twice for FICA purposes without notification after I sent them the docs the first time. ) I received a call from the new bank to say that ABSA won't switch my debit order for my credit card and revolving loan - I must do it personally. I then phoned the bank last week and was told that I cannot do it on the phone and that I must come in to change debit order account number. I was quite annoyed as I don't have time to go to the bank. Why have technology if you don't use it. In the meantime I emailed the credit card division and received a response this morning that the debit order will be switched. I tried to get hold of someone at the call center in order to change the revolving loan, but was sent from pillar to post. I cannot understand how they refuse to switch my debit order on the phone or by email as all my other creditors had no problem with doing so. I cannot understand how they cannot inform me about the FICA docs either. Nobody that I speak to knows anything about updating your FICA records every 4 years and I was not asked to update it once before they froze my account.
