Firstly i closed my ABSA credit card due to the fact that ABSA is a bad bank, ever since I received the credit card i've hard problems with ABSA. Then i decided to close my credit card at the end of May'13, i had a debit order on my standard bank account that paid R400 into my ABSA credit card every month end, that i could not get cancelled in time and was asked to contact ABSA call centre for assistance, i contacted the call centre on 01/06/2013 and requested they return the R400 debit order that went into the closed credit card as i couldn't cancel the debit order in time, i was assured that the money would be automatically returned into my std bank account within 2-3 working days because the account number is no longer in use. I waited until the 7th, still the money was not returned into my account, i contacted Std bank for assistance, they advised me that only ABSA can return the debit order. I went to ABSA primrose branch on the 7th who then asked a million questions and after a 40min wait i was assured i will have the R400 returned into my std bank account after supplying them with my std bank details within 2-3 days, now 18 days later i still have not received my R400 back!!!
