I activated my Platinum account with FNB in May 2013, got a message to pick up my card on the 3rd of June, which I did, I took my proof of residence and copy of ID as requested. I than did a salary switch, .Very proud that I changed to this wonderful bank with all the benefits. Well payday came, I get a sms saying my salary has been paid, so i try to swipe, transcaction not hounoured, how humiliating, i go to the ATM, no funds. I call FNB my account is inactive I must go into a branch. I go to Brooklyn FNB, I get there at 12:55, Apprently i never took in my proof of residence and my account is blocked, incompetent staff at Menlyn did not upload, nobody from FNB informs me my account is blocked. I sit there till 15:07, thats 2 hours, to be told that my salary must have been returned to my epmloyee. pathetic service, why tell me to do a salary switch if my account is blocked. I regret my change if this is the service I get. I now have no access to my money because of FNB incompetent staff and lack of communication.
I would however like to compliment Mosu at the brooklyn branch for sitting with me for 2 hours calling many incompetent people in menlyn to gold reef trying to sort out my problem.
