Last Fri evening 14/6 when i logged into my online profile i noticed finance charge billed to my credit card acc on 13/6 which had to query twice 16/6 & again today due to drop call. Both times bank could not see said transaction on their side. i was already charged R8.19 on 13/5 apparently pertaining to a transaction on 25/4 for R875.00. Explained to them that i made an internet payment (online banking at my computer) to a merchant in KZN as i live in Centurion and because i did not have sufficient funds in my cheque acc opted to pay the merchant from my credit card acc instead, thinking that i would be enjoying the 'same status' a credit card facility offers. Unfortunately it does not unbeknown to me this payment is regarded as a cash withdrawal which attracts interest. Bank does not view this as double chrg even though pd (eft) R900.00 before due date 7/6 due amt R894.69 on stmt. How many times is one penalised especially after the fact. Request to speak to a senior person fell on deaf ears. Call duration in excess of 20mins and getting nowhere. Have been banking with Nedbank since abt 1978 regular salary earner not regarded important enough as an esteemed client...
