On the 29th of September 2013 a transaction has been made on my Standardbank Credit Card to the amount of R8800 from a supplier only known as CLUB PN in Krugersdorp. The amount has been cancelled on my credit card after a lengthy to and throe. I have cancelled the cloned card as per the bank's instruction. However. On the 30th of November 2013 the exact same transaction occurred again on my 'new' card. After spending almost two hours on the phone today (the 2nd) I still don't know what is going on. The department I need to speak with's number is 0112274905 - nobody answers the calls, not even when diverted from any other department.
One response I got was that the 'merchant' had proof of the transaction. This is impossible as I have never set foot in the 'merchants' shop. What's more, I don't even have a contact for the merchant or any idea what kind of business he runs - and the bank can't help me with this either.
This is after I conformed with the procedure the bank required to report the transaction as well as sent an affidavit that I have no knowledge of the transaction. Yet it seems the 'merchant' carries more weight than the 'client' at Standardbank.
