I travelled with SAA from Johannesburg to Port Elizabeth. Upon arrival I found my suitcase being damaged. I went straight to the help desk to report the matter. The clerk on duty responded saying perhaps my bag is over packed. I then showed him my suitcase is only 3/4 full and the damage was caused by something else. He then wanted me to come back the following day as there is nobody to assist me. This was 15.10 on a weekday. I told him it is impossible, I do not live in PE. He then gave me forms to complete and have it affidavit by SAP and faxed back to SAA. Which I did within the next 3 days. Ever since then I've been making phone calls, send e-mails from my e-mail add, from other e-mail add. without any success. SAA keep on saying they have not received my claim. They did however gave me a Ref. No which I've quoted on my claim form. I had to take a relative to PE airport and took my suitcase and handed it in at PE branch. I was told it would be send to Jhb for repairing but so far nothing from SAA. I do not know what happened to the suitcase or my claim as SAA do not return my calls. Officials promise to investigate and call back. No luck. Customer Care is also silent.
