We are in the process of adopting an abandoned baby girl. We purchased tickets to fly on the 18th of September to Cape Town, return on the 28th. The first consultant we spoke to told us that if we receive official documents they will assist us in flying her down with us. After obtaining an official court letter, we sent it through to them. They responded by saying unless there is a birth certificate, they will not allow her to fly. They fail to understand that if you are abandoned, you usually don't come with a birth certificate! The court process dictates that once due processes are followed, a birth certificate can be generated, until them, the court provided us with documents stating that she is legally in our custody. I am amazed that upon explaining this, [URL Removed] respond by saying that if we have her on our medical aid, they will take those documents instead. Medical Aid documents over an official letter from the courts? I am quite confused. It seems it would be easier to fly my animal down to Cape Town than our baby daughter! Two thumbs down [URL Removed]
