Incorrect advise from SAA leads me to suffe

I had travelled to Amsterdam a month back. I had a few options for travel from the company. SAA wasnt one of them but I called SAA Voyager to ask which of the airlines options i had were partner airlines so that i could get miles for the travel.

SAA advised that Emirates was the only option from the list and that once i booked with them and listed my voyager no on their website - i would automatically get the miles after the flight.

I checked my miles statetment today and noticed that I hadnt received the benefit.

I called the call centre again and have now been told that i need to send my original boarding pass to them by registered post in order to claim the miles.

Firstly i dont have the original boarding passes as I have no intention of ever keeping these and were not advised that I need to when i originally checked with SAA. They now claim that theres nothing they can do to rectify their mistake.

How does one ever know if they speaking the truth to start off with?

A bit unfair... i might as well change to another air miles club and start using them instead... why should i have to lose out.

Pity i have booked some upcoming international flights with SAA!
