I tried to book a flight from Johannesburg to Pietermaritzburg using my voyager miles. It showed on the website that it will cost 15 500 miles. I was a few miles short and therefore contacted the SAA Voyager call centre to purchase more miles. I was then told that I now need 18 000 miles due to the flight being an SAA airlink flight. Why does SAA quote a certain number of miles on on their website however they try to rip you off when you try to make a booking. The manager at the voyager bookings department, Palesa Ndluzela says that there's nothing she can do and that if I want the flight, I need to use 18 000 miles. I sent 2 emails to SAA voyager over a week ago and nobody has gotten back to me. SAA client service is absolutely pathetic and it is just unfortunate that we are forced to fly with as it is only them and BA that operate in South Africa.
