Internet help and support stinks

I phoned to get assistance with my faulty internet connection at home and the call centre agent was so rude and unresponsive. When I asked to be put through to a supervisor/manager she merely put me back to the IVR. NO basic trouble shooting was done, no basic diagnostic questions were asked..simply standard response: switch off your modem.
