Call ID on new contract

I took out a new contract on the 27/03/2013 at you V & A branch in Cape Town. To start off I was very impressed with the service i recieved from them. I even received a call the day my contract was due to be activated to make sure everything was ok.

I then noticed that all the calls i was receiving were showing as private numbers. I received a lot of calls for work and as a result missed a few important calls during that time. I then went into the store only to be told by another sales assistant that caller ID was an extra and I should have asked for it. This made me furiuous.

First of all this is my first contract and I made that very clear when I took it out. The sales person should have point this out at the start. Secondly who in their right mind would not want to see who is phoning them. This is something which should come standard with all contracts.

Please could you explain why this is not included as part of a deal. I am starting to regret taking out this contract if this is how it has started.
