Vodacom
Incorrect Number Cancellation

I renewed my cellphone contract in November 2012 and was completely happy with my phone, the service I receive and the network, until the 30 March 2013 (5 months into my contract). I received an sms to inform me that my phone was being transferred onto pre-paid as I had requested, however I NEVER requested anything of the sort! I then phoned the call centre to find out what was happening and they informed me that it was a dealer request, they couldn't tell me which dealer it came from and after been transferred to various departments nothing was done and I was left terribly confused and unable to use my phone. On the 31 March I then went to the dealer where I purchased my contract and had a very helpful young man, who was just as confused as I was, try and assist me. After a week of back and forth emails between him and someone at head office, on 6 April my account was reactivated, However on the INCORRECT package along with add-on data packages. I was charged an activation fee AND was informed my account is in ARREARS and my monthly payment would now be more than double what I was previously paying! No-one seems to know how this happened and I seem to be the one paying for it!
