Vodacom
Why have I been so faithful for so long?

Dear Vodacom,
After 16 months with my latest Blackberry, it has decided to conk in. It turns itself off, without warning, when the battery is 3/4 full. I have to keep a charger next to my bed, in lounge, at work, in my car. Basically, it is a landline. I went to a Vodacom shop on Saturday (6 April) to ask about new contracts and was literally told "don't bother until tomorrow". WHO speaks like that in customer service, when they are possibly going to make a sale? I left it until Sunday (7 April) and went to another Vodacom store. I explained that my phone was just not working any more, and was asked how long I had had it for. 16 months, I replied. "Oh, too bad the warranty period is over", replied salesman. He asked if I had done a systems update (?) and I said no, I hadn't, and even if you take your phone to a Vodacom shop they make you pay for any sort of help you may need or receive. I was also told I could not upgrade now as I don't spend over R3000 a month. WHO DOES? Corrupt government officials phoning China? I just feel that after being a loyal Vodacom customer since 1999, and never having dreamed of changing networks, SOMETHING could be done to help this situation.
