Paying for a cancelled contract

In March 13 I noted that Vodacom was still deducting money from my account, for a number which was ported out to MTN in Aug 12 due to bad service. I contacted customer care on 12 March 13 and was informed that I never cancelled the contract and that after the number was ported out to MTN they changed the cell phone number and still deducted money on my account for this contract. I was promised that somebody will contact me to sort out this issue. They never did. I phoned again on 15 &16 March 2013 and was told that they can't assist me and that someone will phone me back. I am absolutely blown away by this!!! How would one be able to use a cell phone contract if nobody informs you what the new cell phone number is? What's worse is that this sim card, with the "new number" that I don't know, does not even work, as the "service has been suspended". In summary, I am paying for a contract that I did not know I had, with a random new cell phone number and with a service that has been suspended. In a week's time after being promised twice to be contacted in this regard nobody calls me??? I am left utterly frustrated as it seems as though Vodacom just does not care...
